In an attempt to find the adventurer’s motif, the “Sky Lily” is a reward of peaceful resolution from the build of “Thought” and “Afterthought.” The tension resolves throughout the rest of the album and dissolves into the quieter portions of “Eldritch Hills” and the momentary “Sigh.”
“Eldritch Hills” began as one of the solo-piano works of the mid-1990’s and has been periodically performed with other musicians. Here it is presented with piano and synthesizers interwoven.
